On April 1, 2019, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee ordered that this Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) case proceed as a collective action. Stop Wage Theft Attorneys File Lawsuit Against MACO for Overtime Pay Due to Past and Current Property Managers and District Managers.

Stop Wage Theft Attorneys have filed a collective action under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act seeking to recover unpaid overtime owed to past and current Property Managers and District Managers working at MACO Management Company, Inc. since September 17, 2015.

MACO provides management services for multifamily housing units and apartments in ten states including Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

The lawsuit, filed on September 17, 2018, in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, alleges that MACO, its Owner/President James K. Maddox, and his wife, Regional Director Katrina Thompson violated federal law by failing to pay overtime pay rightfully owed to MACO’s Property Managers and District Managers. The lawsuit alleges that Defendants implemented and enforced a strict policy and practice prohibiting overtime compensation to Property Managers and District Managers throughout MACO’s operational territory, despite the fact that Defendants assign them tasks which require significant amounts of overtime hours to accomplish.

If successful, MACO’s past and current Property Managers and District Managers may be entitled to receive hundreds or even thousands of dollars in unpaid overtime.
